Today was my first day in action for Pono Taxi. My phone has been ringing for the last couple of weeks (along with email reservations), but I was not legit. Today I am legit and so I went to all the hotels, resorts, B&B, higher end restaurants to introduce myself, pass out my business cards and magnets. Most people were genuinely happy to see another taxi on the south shore, and said that they will be giving me a call. Some stated that it was a great start for a new year.
I am really excited about this new venture, as I am not sure what the future holds. I have to make myself available when the phone rings, and I get to meet new people. No calls or pickups today, but I feel positive. After I had passed out to all the places, I went for a surf break. What else can someone ask for?
